Sanford council adopts planning grant action plan but removes city-sewer goal for later review

Leah Ziems moved to accept the action plan and goals/objectives with Goal No. 6 removed; Carl Hamann seconded. The vote was 4–1: Yeas from Don Whaley, Leah Ziems, Carl Hamann and Dolores Porte; Nay from Marcus Thrush.
Minutes state the sewer question will be addressed later as part of the Master Plan update. Council directed staff to compile follow-up questions, consult the drain commissioner about any updated systems, and work with the village attorney to determine process steps and whether data can be refreshed at low or no cost.
The minutes do not reflect any binding decision to pursue a sewer project; rather, the council removed the sewer item from the current grant action-plan goals and set steps to research and clarify the question as part of future planning work.
