Sanford secures 2.2 acres for pump track; American Ramp Company engaged for engineering

The Village of Sanford is moving forward with early work on a proposed pump track after securing land and beginning engineering conversations.
President Dolores Porte reported that she and the Billingsleys met with American Ramp Company to begin engineering for the pump track; the Village secured 2.2 acres from Midland County Parks and Recreation for the project. The item was presented as an update; no construction contract was approved at the June 9 meeting.
Council and staff also discussed parking pressures at tournament weekends and possible formalization of parking near the Community Garden and the east side of Center Street, including curb cuts to improve park access. Those parking considerations were discussed in the ordinance-enforcement update and tied to tournament operations run by Sanford Youth Sports.
Staff will continue engineering coordination with American Ramp Company and county parks staff, and return to council with cost and access proposals before any contract awards.
