A Bucksport council committee recommended approval of Resolve 2026-157, a resolve to transfer capital improvement program reserve funds to eliminate deficits and produce accurate fund balances.
Staff said recent work at the council level has addressed many capital deficits and that the waterfront reserve will be covered in the new budget beginning July 1, with additional revenue expected from the town’s American Cruise Lines contract. The information‑technology reserve remains in deficit; the resolve transfers portions from other reserves — including school street firehouse, town office, public safety building, highway equipment, parking lot — into the IT reserve to bring its balance to zero so the town has accurate fund balances.
Committee members had no further questions on the mechanics; a motion to recommend approval was made, seconded and carried. The committee forwarded the recommendation to the full council.
