The town manager told the Bucksport Town Council that Bucksport Mill has reported progress in negotiations concerning the transfer of the Silver Lake Dam water-supply system and has requested the state extend the consultation period to Aug. 3 to allow more time for those discussions.
The town manager said the state had not acted on the request as of the meeting. He described the filing as part of ongoing discussions between the mill, the town, the regional watershed districts and the state; no final transfer or state action was recorded during the meeting.
