During new business, members reviewed the town-wide strategic plan's environment and conservation objectives and discussed how the Conservation Commission should contribute.
The commission noted objective E2 (environment, water and conservation) is most relevant to their work and that other objectives name the commission as a supporting board. Members discussed the need to identify a lead department for each plan objective and to avoid creating formal subcommittees when possible.
One member offered to prepare a RACI (Responsible, Accountable, Consulted, Informed) matrix to clarify who will do the work and who will coordinate. Members agreed to review the draft objectives, mark areas where they want to be primary or secondary, and then send assignments to staff for follow-up. No formal resolution or assignment vote was recorded at the meeting.
