Rushford Village council approves 11.4 kW roof solar array application

Council member Robert Hart asked about the code requirement that triggers a hearing for arrays larger than 7 kW; Overland said the hearing is intended to ensure the project would not create visual problems for adjacent properties. Planning and Zoning Administrator Jon Pettit told the council the installation “fits in the area” and that the application completed the required review.
Rick Ruberg moved to close the hearing; Robert Hart seconded. Later in the regular meeting Ruberg moved to approve Application #1737 and Hart seconded. The motion carried as recorded in the meeting minutes.
The approval follows the council’s standard permitting process for installations that exceed the 7 kW public-notice threshold and does not itself change zoning code.
