Brookline Selectboard approves warrants, signs media contract and authorizes July 4 fireworks

The Brookline Selectboard on April 14 approved the town’s warrants and a slate of routine policies, authorized a July 4 fireworks contract and signed a contract with a local media vendor.
Accounts Payable Warrant #13 for $1,551,885.85, Payroll Warrant #14 for $96,898.09 and a Police Detail Warrant for $1,750 were presented and approved after a motion from Selectboard Vice Chair Brian Rater, seconded by member Ed Perry. The motion carried by a 5–0 vote.
The board voted 5–0 to authorize Town Administrator Paul Branscombe to execute a contract with Pyrotecnico for a July 4 fireworks display scheduled for 9:15 p.m. The contract requires a $7,500 deposit toward a $15,000 total; board members noted additional costs for fire and emergency details and said those charges would be handled through department detail billing.
Ed Perry moved and Jerry Roche seconded a motion to sign a contract with Pepperell Media; the board approved the contract by a 5–0 vote.
In policy actions, the Selectboard accepted an edited Accident Policy (motion by Brian Rater, seconded by Ed Perry) and renewed the Selectboard Investment Policy for 2025 (motion by Ed Perry, seconded by Brian Rater). Both motions passed unanimously. The board also directed staff to re-circulate the Code of Ethics and Rules of the Selectboard for review prior to the April 28 meeting.
The board entered and later exited a nonpublic session under RSA 91-A:3 II (b) and (l) by roll-call votes recorded as 5 yes. The Selectboard adjourned at 11:10 p.m.
The Selectboard flagged several items for its next meeting on April 28, including an asbestos remediation update, the Tamposi land donation hearing continuation, committee appointments and compensation plan discussions.
