Owner of 34 Patty Lane files for two-family conversion; public hearing set for Nov. 10

The owner of 34 Patty Lane presented an application on Oct. 14 to convert the existing 1,300-square-foot house into a two-family residence by installing an internal dividing wall between the original roughly 800-square-foot section and a later addition. The owner said the proposal would not alter the house’s external footprint and submitted the application and a filing fee to ZEO George Martin.
Zoning Enforcement Officer George Martin said he will review the application with the Fire Marshal as part of the commission’s administrative review. Commissioner Dalton Jacquier moved to accept the application and set a public hearing for Nov. 10 at 7:00 p.m.; Alternate Walt Schneider seconded the motion and the commission carried the motion.
During public comment Cheryl Duntz asked for clarification about which 176 Lower Road property appeared in the ZEO report; Mr. Martin clarified the parcel and noted a listing for Bunce Property Management. Duntz also observed that the Fire Marshal typically becomes involved with properties of three families or more; Chairman Mike O’Connor said Mr. Martin would seek the Fire Marshal’s advice in this instance.
Next steps: The application will be placed on the Nov. 10 agenda for a public hearing and Mr. Martin will complete his review with the Fire Marshal prior to that hearing.
