Council calls May 3 general election and ratifies multiple payments exceeding $50,000

On financial business, the council ratified payments that exceed $50,000, as previously directed in November 2023 to remove such expenditures from the consent agenda for separate consideration. Ratified items listed in the minutes included a City of Houston water bill dated Nov. 18, 2024, for $68,051.30 (September 2024 water purchase); JLA Construction Solutions application for payment No. 12R1 for $100,813.21 (Public Works Building); Memorial Villages Water Authority invoice no. 006-24-25 for $59,776.67 (October 2024 wastewater treatment); and Ram Rod Utilities monthly estimates no. 1–3 for $93,730.50, $158,810.63, and $138,178.12 respectively for work on the Bunker Hill Rd. and Greenbay sanitary sewer rehabilitation project.
Councilmember Eric Thode moved to ratify the listed payments; Councilmember Keith Brown seconded. The motion carried 5-0.
