Rushford Village hears water, road and park maintenance updates; two applicants for part-time public works job

The council received a series of public works updates at the Oct. 7 meeting.
Councilmember Mike Ebner reported that fluoride and chlorine levels are within required ranges with weekly testing. South Rushford park's hydrant leak was repaired and an additional leak discovered during excavation was also fixed; a curb stop was installed. Hydrant flushing at South Rushford is scheduled for Oct. 13–17. Rock was delivered and leveled at Dunn Lane and culvert markers were placed. The F550 vehicle was taken to Brown's Tire for DOT inspection. Park inspections resulted in tightened boards and replacement of a swing seat at Hall Park; Ebner donated the replacement swing seat. Public Works/Maintenance Supervisor Darrin Dessner was absent but will attend the MMUA safety meeting on Oct. 14.
Clerk Mary Miner said two applications have been received for the advertised part-time public works/maintenance position.
