Staff told the council the project has a roughly $237,000 grant from the Iowa Department of Transportation, leaving the city's share at about $29,000. Staff recommended approving both the plan/specifications resolution and the contract award; the council voted in favor of the resolutions.
Staff also noted a projected final completion date near Sept. 25, 2026, and oriented the council to where the apron expansion and a new corporate hangar will be located. Council members asked for timing clarifications about hanger construction; staff said construction for the new hangar is planned to start in July or August and may extend into the fall.
