The board approved a motion to carry the appeal to the Board of Finance, which will consider appeals at Town Hall on April 16, 2024, at 5:30 p.m. The motion carried unanimously (mover: D. Gragnolati; second: A. Osorio). Parkhurst described the figures and urged the board to determine whether and how much to request in the appeal.
Board members discussed budget drivers and recent capital project carryovers; the meeting record shows February encumbrances of $3,360,148.05 and year‑to‑date encumbrances of $20,759,125.02. No additional fiscal decisions were taken at the meeting beyond the vote to appeal. The board’s next appropriate forum for public consideration of the appeal will be the April 16 hearing at Town Hall.
