The Town of Pembroke Planning Board on Nov. 19 voted unanimously to table the public hearing on the Cleveland Rd. Solar 1 Special Use Permit at the request of the applicant after the Genesee County Planning Board recommended disapproval.
Chairman David Knupfer said the request from New Leaf Energy Inc. arrived that afternoon by phone and email and recommended tabling the hearing for up to three months while the applicant reconsiders the project’s feasibility. Knupfer moved to table the application; the motion was seconded by Kevin Reeves and passed on a roll-call vote of seven AYES and zero NAYS.
Under the motion the board set a maximum three‑month tabling period. If the applicant proceeds within that time, the Planning Board said the entire public hearing process will be repeated. The board did not take further action on the application at the Nov. 19 meeting.
What happens next: the applicant may return with revised materials, or withdraw; any resumption of the project during the tabling period will require reopening the public hearing and repeating notice procedures.
