Pembroke supervisor reports highway garage progress; water-district easements still pending

Supervisor Thomas Schneider told the board that work on the new highway garage is progressing: contractors are installing HVAC, water and sewer lines, the final truck bays are expected to be ready by Nov. 5, and bathrooms and locker rooms are finished. Schneider said the highway superintendent's office is ready for painting and flooring work will follow once heat is available. He reported a problem with the pitch of the concrete at the truck-bay-to-parking-lot transition; contractors and CPL are coordinating a correction.
On water infrastructure, the board said all easements for Water District 5 have been filed with the county; engineers continue outreach on three remaining easements required for Water District 4. The minutes note that town residents have been filling jugs at the Town Park because of a significant drought.
No formal action or votes were taken on these items during the meeting; updates will continue at subsequent meetings as work and negotiations proceed.
