Westbrook to accept historic outbuildings for Bushnell House once lead paint remediated

Health Director Zack Faiella told the board that the state has confirmed homeowner-generated lead-based paint waste is exempt from hazardous-waste regulations provided the amount of waste is less than 10 cubic yards.
Contractor Mike Adorno of M. Adorno Construction has offered to donate his time to remediate and repaint the buildings, the minutes state. The First Selectman’s office will ask Gustafson to contact Adorno directly and to notify town staff when remediation is complete; at that point Westbrook Public Works can relocate the structures to Bushnell property.
No timeline or budget was provided in the minutes for relocation or long-term preservation work.
