The Monroe School District Board of Education approved the sixth-grade media literacy curriculum after a second review. Board members were offered the opportunity to ask questions following a presentation previously delivered by Jamie Sherry; Mike Crowley was present for questions. A motion to approve the curriculum as presented was made and seconded (seconded by Board member Jeff), and the board voted unanimously to adopt the sixth-grade media literacy curriculum.
Board members did not offer substantive amendments or request additional materials at the meeting. The curriculum adoption completes the second review step; staff will proceed with implementation in the coming school year under normal curriculum rollout procedures.
