IWC schedules special meeting to elect secretary; commission reads resignation from Commissioner Ben Savia

At the Jan. 14 meeting the Monroe Inland Wetland Commission voted unanimously to hold a special organizational meeting at 6:45 p.m. on Feb. 11 to nominate and elect a new secretary, to be followed immediately by the regular meeting. Commissioners said the election meeting will be procedural: the public may attend but will not be allowed to speak on the secretary nomination.
The chair read a resignation letter from Commissioner Ben Savia explaining that a change in his work schedule prevents him from attending Wednesday evening meetings that can run late. Commissioners expressed appreciation for Savia's service and accepted his resignation into the record.
The commission also approved minutes for prior meetings and confirmed that separate motions are required to approve each set of minutes.
