Superintendent outlines facilities study; ad hoc committee to meet Dec. 12

The Monroe School District superintendent told the board the district has engaged consultants (Silver Petracelli and MP Planning Group) to complete condition assessments and enrollment and space-use analyses as part of a facilities study.
According to the superintendent’s report, Silver Petracelli presented enrollment and utilization options on Oct. 21 and is preparing several configuration options for the district administrative team to review; the next administrative review was described as occurring the Thursday after this meeting. The superintendent said that an ad hoc district committee will meet on Dec. 12 to review options and that committee meetings and community engagement (forums and surveys) are expected to be held monthly through the spring as plans are refined.
Board members discussed committee membership, representation (Board of Finance and Town Council participation were suggested) and constraints on committee size. The superintendent said the goal is to present one to three options for broader public review by late spring or early summer; no final decisions were made at the meeting.
