The Township Board on June 8 authorized a $33,000 budgetary increase to account 11360-97133 to cover costs for an upgrade of courthouse security cameras after the 51st District Court secured up to $16,500 from the MMRMA Risk Avoidance Program (RAP). The court’s total projected project cost is $31,948; MMRMA will reimburse up to half of that amount, according to the court’s memo.
Jen Thom, Court Administrator, presented the award and requested the board recognize the revenue and increase the budget line to cover the project. Trustee Marie E. Hauswirth moved to authorize the $33,000 increase and Trustee Jeff Gilbert seconded; the motion carried unanimously by roll call.
The board’s approval funds the upgrade so the court can proceed with camera replacements and related expenses. The court memorandum credited grant-writing efforts by John Lyman and offered to answer trustees’ questions during the meeting.
