NECCOG approves two STIP bridge projects totaling about $9.02 million

The Council voted to add Project #0170-3648, a 2023 construction project to apply concrete sealer on various NBI bridges along Interstate 84 ($9,000,000: $7.2 million federal, $1.8 million state), and Project #0172-0528, a 2023 UHPC beam end repair project on NHS bridges ($22,700: $20,430 federal, $2,270 state).
The motion to approve the amendments was made by Kevin Cunningham and seconded by Tracey Hanson; the minutes record the vote as passed unanimously. Filchak reminded members that TRIP project endorsements must be submitted to CONNDOT by April 28, 2023, and said towns should place projects in the Long-Range Transportation Plan for consideration.
The approved federal-state funding splits reflect typical STIP cost-sharing for these kinds of bridge projects. The Council took the action as presented and did not record any amendments to the funding or scope during the meeting. The projects will proceed through CONNDOT's STIP process for programming and delivery.
