CRAG committee forwards Vision Zero safety plan, Priority Pathways and Warehousing study to policy board

CRAG’s Transportation Committee endorsed the regional Transportation Safety Action Plan (Vision Zero), the Priority Pathways separated-path network study, and the Warehousing Land Use & Traffic study and agreed to send all three to the policy board for final action; the committee also authorized the TC to act as policy board during the summer recess.
The Transportation Committee on June 22 voted to forward three major staff studies to the policy board for final action.
Roger asked the committee to advance CRAG’s Transportation Safety Action Plan, developed with a U.S. DOT Safe Streets and Roads for All grant and approved by the Vision Zero task force on June 11; he reminded members the policy board adopted a Vision Zero goal in 2024 to reach zero fatal and serious crashes by 2040. "The task force did approve the plan at their June 11 meeting," Roger said, and staff recommended forwarding the plan to the policy board for adoption.
Staff also presented the Priority Pathways study — a proposed network of off-road separated or protected pathways across more than 30 towns — noting the 30-day public comment period closed June 14 with only minor comments and that staff have finalized responses. The Warehousing Land Use and Traffic study (part one and two) was similarly presented; staff reported no public comments and advisory committee endorsement.
The committee endorsed and moved all three reports to the policy board at its upcoming Wednesday meeting. Members also approved an annual procedural resolution allowing the Transportation Committee to act as the policy board during the policy board’s summer break, with policy-board members invited to those meetings as usual.
