Egg hunt draws 100; camp registration and ice-skating plans updated

Program Coordinator JodiAnn Eure updated commissioners on current programs and near-term plans at the April 13 meeting.
Eure reported the annual Egg Hunt on April 5 drew approximately 100 children. Ongoing programs include Tiny Tots Soccer (31 participants), Music Time with Miss Cheryl (one Monday class full, Friday class half full with a drop-in option), Tai Chi (averaging six per class), Mindful Movements (about five per class), and Pilates (3–5 participants). Language Labs were canceled due to low enrollment; the instructor may offer classes for the Senior Center instead.
Looking ahead, ice skating will not be offered this spring because one-hour ice slots are unavailable because of rink staffing constraints. Stephen Frattini is working on a contract for a summer skate program; the program requires a minimum number of participants before it can proceed. Camp registration is scheduled to begin May 1, 2026 via MyRec; Director John Wrenn will provide pricing information. A smaller tent will be rented for Senior Camp to provide shelter during heavy downpours; Junior Camp will be held at the JCC pending contract completion.
Commissioners commended the condition of fields and crew work. The updates were procedural; no formal votes were required for the program items reported in the minutes.
