The Pleasantville City Council on Aug. 19 adopted Resolution 25-15 to set a notice of hearing on a proposed Urban Revitalization Plan, scheduling the hearing for Oct. 21 at 5:30 p.m. City staff noted a city-wide mailing is required at least 30 days before the hearing.
The motion to adopt Resolution 25-15 was made by Council Member Aaron Hurt and seconded by Kyle Patterson. The minutes record votes as Hurt aye, Jon Koehn aye and Patterson aye; the motion carried. City staff was directed to prepare and mail the required notices in advance of the hearing.
Why it matters: An Urban Revitalization Plan hearing is a procedural step that opens the opportunity for property tax and rehabilitation incentives and public comment on redevelopment direction; the council must complete the required public-notice steps before taking further action.
