Mayor Jayma Davis called a special session of the Chariton City Council to order at 1:00 p.m. on Feb. 13, 2026, in the council chambers at City Hall. City Manager Douglas Anderson and City Clerk Christy Metzger were present for a meeting focused on the final budget worksheets for Fiscal Year 2027.
The council approved the meeting agenda on a motion by Council Member Jarrett McGee, seconded by Council Member Cameron Storm; the roll call vote was unanimous (Davis, Fenton, McGee, Shutt, Storm). Council members then discussed the final FY 2027 budget worksheets with staff. The minutes record that the worksheets were reviewed but do not list line-item changes, dollar amounts, or decisions adopted during the Feb. 13 session.
Later in the meeting, Council Member Stephen Fenton moved, and Council Member Cameron Storm seconded, that the meeting be adjourned and reconvened at 5:00 p.m. on Feb. 17, 2026, in the council chambers. The motion passed on a unanimous roll call (Davis, Fenton, McGee, Shutt, Storm). The meeting adjourned at 4:28 p.m.
No ordinances, resolutions, contracts or specific budget line-item votes are recorded in the Feb. 13 minutes. The council set Feb. 17, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. as the next meeting time for continued consideration of the FY 2027 budget worksheets.
