The Chariton City Council approved two tax-abatement applications under the City-Wide Urban Revitalization Plan, both subject to review by the Lucas County Assessor.
The council approved an application from David and Sarah Palmer for the construction of a new business valued at $427,000 at 815 South 1st Street; the motion to approve the application was made by Gary Shutt and seconded by Cameron Storm. The approval is conditioned on the County Assessor's review.
Separately, the council approved an application from Corey and Hailey Conrad for the construction of a new building valued at $24,000 at 503 South 14th Street; the motion was made by Cameron Storm and seconded by Jarrett McGee. That approval is also subject to County Assessor review.
Both motions passed unanimously. The council record does not include additional program details (duration of the abatement or percentage exempted); those details will be determined through the assessor's review and any applicable program rules.
