Britney briefed the council on the status of the city administrator search and routine operations. She said recruitment advertisements have been circulated (including on LinkedIn) but the position profile needs correction; she will wait for the corrected profile before posting it on the city website and the League of Cities site to ensure consistent information.
Interim City Administrator Dan outlined recent administrative work: meeting with department heads, following up on several capital-improvement projects and discussing changes to a TIFF matrix that the council has not yet adopted. He said department-head meetings occur monthly on the third Tuesday and that he has been helping staff with several minor operational problems.
Britney also reported operational items: training for a front-desk payment sync and online payments is starting this week; city auditors are scheduled to be on-site Aug. 18–22 (the city sent preparatory documents); bridge work to remove a balustrade on the pedestrian bridge is complete; and staff may need to replace credit-card swiper hardware. Staff also noted a Main Street America accreditation visit to Bank Street on Tuesday, Aug. 12, from 11:00–11:50 a.m. Council thanked staff for the updates. No formal personnel decisions were made at the workshop.
