Trustees approve routine bills, hear director report on programs and accreditation

In her director’s report, JeNel Barth said library staff are preparing to participate in the Healthy Kids Fair on April 11 and that planning for the Summer Reading Program has begun with the theme 'Plant a Seed, Read.' Barth said Alison Fraser is assisting with grant-writing work for exterior improvements and reported a "large increase" in the library’s use of Bridges/Libby in January; the minutes do not include usage figures. Barth also said the library’s accreditation is due Feb. 28, 2026, and staff are preparing required materials.
Representatives of the Friends of DPL announced a Pie Day fundraiser set for March 14, with organizers seeking bakers and buyers. The Drake Public Library Foundation told the board it can assist with matching grants if the library secures awards.
No visitors or public comments were recorded. The next regular meeting is scheduled for March 11, 2026, at 5 p.m.
