Casey council adopts water revenue bond resolution; approves routine reports, bids and event logistics

The Casey City Council adopted Resolution #2024-24 on Oct. 7 authorizing a Loan and Disbursement Agreement and providing for the issuance and securing of payment of Water Revenue Bonds. Councilmember Rick Richter introduced the resolution; Councilmember Leland Acker seconded the motion. The roll call vote was 4 in favor, 0 opposed; Councilmember Schiller was recorded absent and Mayor Nicholas Lindberg declared the resolution adopted.
The council also approved a series of routine motions during the meeting. Motions and outcomes included: approval of the agenda and the consent agenda (which included the Sept. 5 minutes and monthly financial reconciliations); acceptance of the Annual Urban Renewal Report; acceptance of the Annual Financial Report; and acceptance of a $5,504 bid from Calibur Concrete LLC to repair McPherson Street at the junction of concrete and bricks. All votes were recorded 4-0 in favor with Councilmember Schiller absent.
Clerk Gwen Blass reported the city received a $1,000 ICAP grant and that the Historical Society received a $10,000 donation for the Visitor Center; the council approved a contract for tuckpointing at the Visitor Center not to exceed $10,000, authorized Blass's attendance at the IMFOA meeting Oct. 16'18, approved closing McPherson Street for Trunk or Treat on Oct. 27, and approved purchase of a locking mailbox for City Hall. These motions passed by the same 4-0 margin.
