On May 11 the Sherman Park and Recreation Commission approved payment of $10,640 to Tucker for dock repairs and authorized an expenditure not to exceed $1,500 for a new office computer for the Park and Recreation Director.
Director John Wrenn reported the Tucker dock repairs were completed on May 1 and that the BOS indicated the repair bill would be paid from the Park and Rec Program account. "Tucker finished repairing the docks on May 1. The bill was $10,640.00," Wrenn said; Kris Fazzone moved to approve payment and the motion passed unanimously.
Commissioners discussed several facility items: two rental openings for the kayak rack and a 10-person wait list for boat slips; the recently installed Munch Meadow sign; and temporary-to-permanent parking signage for the community garden driveway. Atlas Fencing sought permission to use Colonial Field parking for guardrail repair staging through July and the commission agreed that plan was acceptable.
Board members reviewed a $35,000 estimate for asphalt-only repaving of the basketball court, noting the work must be scheduled between camp and school so the asphalt has time to cure; lining would occur later. Stan Greenbaum identified senior-center design issues to share with the building committee (exterior bathroom access, water access, and orientation) and the commission agreed to coordinate representation at forthcoming Board of Selectmen meetings.
No formal vote on the repaving estimate was recorded in the minutes; the commission recorded approval of the dock payment and the computer expenditure and will track repaving timing and funding during upcoming meetings.
