Commission approves courthouse annex bid review, EMS pay plan, and multiple shoreline permits

EMS COMPENSATION: The board approved Evergreen Solutions’ market study recommendations for EMTs, paramedics, EMS captains and the EMS director pay grades and authorized advertising for vacant EMS positions; the EMS director position interview committee was also authorized.
PLANNING & ZONING: The board approved critical shoreline permits for 225 Rio Vista and 570 River Road and conditionally approved a variance for 1369 Chip Morrison Drive (contingent on required permits); a variance request for 2638 Highway 98 was denied after Planning & Zoning recommended denial.
OTHER: The board approved a State Fire Marshal grant award for an Eastpoint VFD truck and authorized a task order to prepare a CDBG small cities cooperative water/sewer application. Commissioners unanimously approved the consent items.
Outcome: Routine procurement and planning items advanced to administrative review or were approved as presented (motions carried 5-0).
