The board also approved a $1,000 total increase in CPRA rodeo prize money aimed at attracting more contestants: Bull Riding +$500, Bareback Riding +$250 and Saddle Bronc Riding +$250. No vote tallies or mover/second names were recorded in the minutes.
Members discussed a possible multi-county rodeo series with neighboring counties and covered livestock sourcing and transportation contingencies should additional animals be needed. Those operational logistics remain under discussion and no formal inter-county agreements were reported.
The board’s actions leave entertainment lineups and updated rodeo payouts in place for the 2026 fair; staff and organizers will proceed with contract and sponsorship follow-up consistent with the board’s spending approvals.
