Glow Studio awarded Match on Main; DDA doubles facade grant capacity to $50,000

At the June 24 meeting the board heard two grant items. Staff announced that the state Match on Main program selected Glow Studio for an award of just under $23,000; the business must provide the required 10% local match. Staff noted this was Glow Studio’s third application to the program and praised the owner’s persistence.
Separately, staff said a surplus allowed the DDA to increase the 2026–27 facade grant pool to $50,000 (the board previously discussed a $20,000 setting). The facade committee raised the per-project 50/50 matching cap from the prior $5,000 to up to $10,000 per project to address higher renovation costs and to make a more meaningful impact on downtown storefronts. Staff said the change could enable funding for as many as four or five larger projects and directed applicants to the DDA website for application details.
Staff said the grant structure for 2026–27 is intended to reflect higher construction and materials costs; the committee will award grants on submission and distribute funds until the pool is expended.
Next steps: Glow Studio and DDA staff will complete state and local paperwork to formalize the Match on Main award; facade grant applications will be processed through the facade committee and posted on the DDA website.
