Coggon adopts new water rates, sets bulk water fees

The ordinance sets a base residential rental rate of $30.00 monthly for the first 1,000 gallons, with an additional charge of $2.50 per 1,000 gallons used and a monthly flat water meter charge of $2.50. The council also established bulk water fees: a $50 hookup fee, a $100 after-hours hookup fee and a usage charge of $20.00 per 1,000 gallons for bulk customers.
The motion to adopt the ordinance passed with recorded ayes from Council Members Travis Beckman, Jeff Harbaugh and Brian Rowe; Angie Faust and Jeremy Faust were recorded absent for the vote. Mayor Reenie Montgomery signed the ordinance on final passage. The minutes do not specify an effective date or transitional provisions.
The ordinance replaces the prior water-rate language in Title VI, Chapter 4 and will govern billing for residential users and the new bulk-water schedule. Questions about implementation timing and billing cycles were not specified in the minutes.
