The Pella City Council approved a series of procedural and administrative items including committee appointments, routine consent items and payment of abstract bills.
Council appointed a Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) to assist on the city's comprehensive plan (20-year horizon to 2045) and associated zoning-code update; staff explained the TAC's advisory role and named Dr. Spencer Carlstone as chair of the TAC. The council also approved forming a Neighborhood Revitalization Grant committee and named initial volunteer members; Lynn will chair development of the draft grant program.
Later in the meeting council voted to enter closed session to discuss litigation strategy pursuant to Iowa Code; after returning to open session the council moved and approved the execution of a settlement agreement. The meeting record shows the motion and roll-call approval of the settlement agreement but no substantive settlement terms were read into the public record at that time.
Council approved the consent agenda, passed abstract bills and adjourned to a policy and planning session to continue reviewing project updates and budget work sessions.
