Major David Gilbert and Sheriff Nate Boeckman presented a CIP request for three new patrol vehicles, reporting many current units exceed 110,000–130,000 miles. The department proposed purchasing three vehicles at $44,528 each, for a total vehicle cost of $133,584, plus $14,000 to upfit them with emergency equipment — a total CIP request of $175,584. Commissioners also agreed to sponsor a Crimestoppers banquet table for $350 after Chairman Kathy Tremont and Commissioner Giordano said they could not attend; Commissioner Ascher indicated he plans to attend.
The commission held two short executive sessions — one at 10:56 a.m. to discuss legal issues relating to contracts and another at 11:36 a.m. for non‑elected personnel — returning both times with no public action taken. The meeting adjourned at 12:20 p.m.
What happens next: The county will complete the purchase paperwork for 301 E. 8th, proceed with CIP procurement for the sheriff vehicles under the state contract, and the accepted tax roll corrections will be processed.
