The Falmouth 250 Committee opened its March 18 meeting by reviewing and approving the February 11, 2025 minutes.
The committee noted the Select Board's approval of 14 banners to be installed along Main Street for the summer season, to be displayed June 29 through Aug. 2; Karen Rinaldo and Tamsen George were assigned to visit the Department of Public Works to inspect the banners prior to installation. The minutes record that the banners are the same design as the prior year.
Committee members described outreach efforts: a letter was sent to community partners asking about events they plan for the 250th anniversary so the committee can compile and amplify townwide activities. The committee also discussed the balance of committee funds and the possibility of producing a commemorative book as a "living record" of 250th programs.
Finally, the committee decided to appear before the Select Board in June to provide an update on programming and plans. The March 18 minutes do not record formal roll-call votes for these items; they are recorded as committee actions and assignments in the meeting minutes.
