The Dennis Old King's Highway Regional Historic District Commission approved a slate of applications on its agenda, including several roof-mounted solar systems and numerous renovation and addition projects.
Jennifer Abati, the permit coordinator for multiple projects, described three solar proposals: a 25-panel roof array at 23 Meadow Lane, a 35-panel (14.35-kilowatt) system at 3 Thatcher Drive, and a 14-panel add-on at 9 Fieldstone Drive. The board determined the Meadow Lane array would be minimally visible and approved it. Commissioners discussed the scenic-road boundary for the Thatcher Drive proposal before approving it, and they noted the darker roof on the Fieldstone property made the panels acceptable under the commission's third criterion.
Other applications approved at the meeting included siding and deck replacement at 69 Uncle Bob's Way (builder Tulio Pereira), an addition and dormers at 16 Hayfield Road presented by Christian Valley of the Valley Group, multiple additions for local homeowners (including 73 & 77 Pilgrim Road presented by Thomas Moore for Shearwater Development), and a garage conversion/one-car garage at 63 Bristol. A request to continue windows for 17 Hallway Drive at the applicant's request was granted.
The commission also approved administrative items: minutes of the March 11, 2026 meeting were accepted with one abstention.
Votes were taken by voice for the majority of items; the transcript records affirmative "Aye" responses but does not include a roll-call tally for most votes. The meeting concluded with a motion to adjourn; the chair announced the meeting adjourned at 06:51.
