A project presenter told the Daggett County Municipal Building Authority on Aug. 5 that the architect and interior designer finalized the color palette for the new clinic building and that material specifications are commercial grade.
The presenter (project representative) described the finishes and left a color board for board members to review after the meeting. Members discussed whether thin brick or full brick should be used; the presenter said the specified thin-brick product was compatible with local weather and building design. One Committee member suggested carpet in some areas, while the presenter noted that commercial-grade finishes were selected for durability and graffiti resistance.
Separately, the Chair and staff reported a near-term construction constraint: a water issue affecting placement of the footings. Chair said the project team met with the architect, engineers and contractor and "they've been given a work order directive to make some adjustments with adding some cobble to the substrate the sub surface, that'll go below the footing and are working towards getting that delivered and installed so that they can proceed with the footings." Staff added that testing and confirmation of material availability and pricing remain pending.
No formal change to the design materials or contract was recorded at the meeting; board members were invited to review the color board outside the meeting and raise any concerns to staff.
