The Clarksville City Council approved the first reading of Ordinance No. 317, a change to the City Code concerning stop signs, and handled several finance and maintenance contracts.
Council member Jennifer Kielman moved to approve the first reading of Ordinance No. 317 amending stop-sign provisions in the Code of Ordinances of the City of Clarksville, Iowa; Taran Sherburne seconded the motion. The roll-call showed Doty, Kielman, Sherburne and Jessi Reints voting aye; Ruth Saulsbury was absent.
On insurance matters, the council approved a liability payment to ICAP in the amount of $55,059 (motion by Taran Sherburne, second by Roger Doty) and separately approved a $500 deductible for ICAP coverage (motion by Jennifer Kielman, second by Jessi Reints). Council also approved street sweeping by DW Huisman for $3,775 and earlier in the meeting voted to approve Dean Zelle as the city’s insurance agent.
Motions on the ordinance and financial items carried with the same recorded Ayes among present council members; no votes opposing these items were recorded.
