Board Policies Committee forwards revised nondiscrimination, Title IX and admission policies to full Chaplin Board

The Chaplin Board Policies Committee met on Sept. 25, 2024, at Chaplin Elementary School and agreed to forward several revised policies to the full Chaplin Board of Education for tentative approval.
The committee identified three primary policy updates to send to the full board: Policy 0521, “Nondiscrimination Policy and Notice”; a consolidated revision covering Policies 4000.1/4200.1/5145.44 on “Sexual Harassment/Title IX”; and Policy 5111, “Admission/Placement.” The committee recorded those items as its recommended referrals for consideration at a future full-board meeting.
Committee members also completed the required annual review of Policy 6172.4, “Title I Parent Involvement,” and determined no changes were necessary at this time. The committee noted the Title I review is an annual requirement and that this year’s review yielded no revisions.
No votes, motions with mover/second, or individual roll-call tallies were recorded in the meeting notes provided. The committee called the meeting to order at 6:38 p.m. and adjourned at 7:45 p.m. The full Chaplin Board of Education will receive the committee’s recommended policy updates for tentative approval at a subsequent meeting.
