Edes Falls preservation work begins; board hears interpretive sign and wall plan

The board received an update June 22 on plans to preserve and interpret Edes Falls. Ken, representing the Edes Falls working group, said the group revised the original plan after state DEP review and is now building a stone wall at the Jug Town and East Falls Road intersection, repairing trails, refreshing mulch, and installing interpretive signage.
Work began the prior week with the town preparing a wall base and a stonemason installing the first stones. Ken said the project is being funded with a $30,000 contribution from Total Immersion (TU) for historical preservation; board discussion referenced remaining funds for the project. The working group plans a park dedication ceremony in early‑to‑mid October to coincide with the fall salmon run.
Ken asked if members had questions about materials and site work; none were raised. The board thanked Ken and noted progress would continue under the working group's plan.
