The Deep River Board of Education received financial status updates and a cafeteria fund report at its Sept. 18 meeting. Administrators said the committed budget for the current year stands at 91% (reporting through Aug. 30, 2025) and that the district expects to meet its financial obligations; the annual audit remains in progress.
Robert Grissom reported on the cafeteria fund for last school year, saying the account realized a net profit and noting that tables were purchased for the cafeteria. The board also heard that the district’s medical reserve account is performing as projected and that federal grant allocations are expected to align with prior expectations while applications are being completed.
Why it matters: the finance position will inform midyear monitoring and any adjustments. The presentation did not include proposed new budget appropriations or require a board vote; committee meetings on finance are scheduled in October.
Board members did not request a vote on finance items at this meeting. The district’s audit work is ongoing, and administrators told the board they expect current obligations to be met.
