Board presenters said the agreement in the board book had been vetted by both the village's legal counsel and district counsel.
Board members discussed timing: the existing SRO agreement expires June 30, which could leave the district without a contract for roughly two and a half weeks unless action is taken. The board adopted a substitute motion to approve the agreement pending any required legislative amendments; the roll-call vote carried 7-0.
Board members asked staff to share the presenter's summary of the new law and to follow up with documents showing the agreement's compliance if changes are needed.
