The Region 4 Fields Renovation Advisory Committee reviewed a monthly budget report on Sept. 3 showing a Grand Project Total of $9,996,000 and total construction costs of $9,509,199. Committee member Bob Grissom presented the financial overview and cited an owner contingency balance of approximately $120,000.
"There have been no significant changes in expenditures since the prior month, and no new encumbrances, leaving a contingency balance of approx. $120,000," Bob Grissom said while summarizing the attached budget table dated through Aug. 31, 2025 and last updated Sept. 3, 2025.
Line items in the attachment show design and A&E costs reported at $29,750 (100% complete), owner's oversight costs at $108,000 (100% complete), and multiple Phase 1 construction items recorded as complete. Phase 2 work — including JWMS grass field improvements (67.0% complete), tennis courts (90.0% complete), stadium seating (92.7%), parking (96.5%), and a retrofit lighting line (0.0%) — was shown with varying completion percentages.
The financial update accompanied project technical updates from FieldTurf about site work and irrigation issues; the committee asked staff and FieldTurf to coordinate technical fixes and to report cost implications before authorizing changes that could draw from contingency funds.
The committee set no votes or formal motions on the budget at the Sept. 3 meeting. The next advisory meeting is scheduled Sept. 24 at 5:30 p.m. in the JWMS Library, when committee members expect further updates.
