"We anticipate that these apartments will be open for occupancy in mid July of this year," Oman said. Forward expects to place eight residents — two of whom will come from Dennis — and is coordinating interviews and placements with the Department of Developmental Services and other contributing towns.
Forward thanked the town for donating 3.6 acres and for CPC funding support; the organization noted previous group homes and the success of Phase 1. The nonprofit said it is vetting candidates now and will hold an open house April 30 for stakeholders and an official ribbon cutting in June once the building is ready.
Board members and the public praised the project; town officials confirmed that staff and the CPC will continue to monitor occupancy timelines and any neighborhood impacts. There were no votes; the update was informational and the board asked Forward to return with final occupancy and operations details prior to move‑ins.
