The Warrick County School Corporation board approved Resolution 2026-5, authorizing the superintendent to recruit and hire personnel to ensure full staffing for the upcoming school year.
Dr. Redmond introduced the measure on behalf of the board, saying Director of Human Resources Dr. Doug Gresham brought the resolution forward to allow the district to hire ahead of the start of classes. "This resolution will authorize the superintendent to recruit and hire personnel to ensure full staffing for the upcoming school year," Dr. Redmond said. She noted the superintendent will provide the board with the names of new hires for official approval at subsequent board meetings.
The resolution sets hiring authorization to take effect July 1, 2026, for the first semester and Dec. 1, 2026, for the second semester to ensure adequate staffing for each academic term. A motion to approve the resolution was made by Mr. France and seconded by Mr. Eigner; the board carried the motion by voice vote.
The vote was taken by voice after the motion and second, with the chair calling for those in favor and then noting the motion carried. The resolution does not itself list specific hires; board members will act on individual personnel recommendations at future meetings as the superintendent reports filled positions.
