The Policy Subcommittee received a brief update on the town’s Encroachment Policy on June 4. Chair Kenny Largess said he had discussed the draft with the Board of Library Trustees and the School Committee, both of which raised concerns about how review and enforcement would be operationalized.
Executive Director Meghan Jop reported staff-level conversations with Department of Public Works Director Mr. Cohen about practical steps for implementation. The PSC asked Town Counsel Eric Reustle to prepare slightly redrafted language, coordinated with the Board of Public Works, before presenting the revised text to other land-owning boards in town for additional review.
The PSC did not adopt any changes at this meeting; the item will return after counsel and the Board of Public Works coordinate edits.
