The chair reported bills for payment totaling $131,078.12; the board moved and the motion carried. The commissioners also approved a travel request and an appropriation; each motion was seconded and approved by voice vote.
The chair advised that Merle Long, the county dog warden, filed a weekly report for June 21–27 showing two dogs impounded, one adopted, one redeemed, zero citations and no euthanizations. The board announced that the courthouse and all nonemergency county offices will be closed Friday, July 3, 2026, in observance of Independence Day.
The clerk relayed senior-center items from Tanya Myers: the Rustic Coffee food truck will be at the senior center parking lot on July 2; fairgrounds fireworks are scheduled at dusk on July 2 with handicap parking at the Friendship Center; and the Parkinson’s support group has moved to the Friendship Center (meets first and third Tuesdays at 10:30, except during the fair week in July).
The chair also reported that carpeting installation is underway at the OSU Extension offices in the Annex Building and that the offices should be largely completed once HVAC power is connected.
