Carroll County tables three PY24 demolition bids pending funding review

Susan Moore, community development director for ORDC, told the Carroll County Commissioners on June 29 that the county received one contractor bid for each of three PY24 demolition properties and two contractors submitted no-bid notices because of scheduling conflicts.
Moore said the bids were $38,800 for the property at 5342 Autumn Road (the former Timlin project), $54,000 for 4369 Bend Jack Street (Galloway project) and $40,000 for 2252 Apollo Road (Frog Run Heclove). She said the projects were bid separately so the county could proceed with those it has funding for and push any that exceed current funds to the next round.
"At this time, this being the only bid, we would like to have a chance to go through, look to see with funding wise what's gonna fit in with our funding, and request this be tabled until Thursday," Moore said.
The board moved to table the bids until Thursday to allow staff to review funding and determine which projects can be awarded now. The chair called for a voice vote and recorded the motion as carried.
Moore said the state has approved three projects the county applied for in the next grant cycle but the county had not yet received a formal agreement from the state.
Next steps: county staff will review the available PY24 funds and report back at the Thursday meeting so the board can decide which of the three demolition projects to award.
