McMahon explained this is a routine cash-flow measure many districts use when a September state-aid payment is not distributed. - Approved a one-year extension of the South and West Washington Consortium agreement (CTE) through June 30, 2027 to maintain continuity of career and technical education programming while a broader area CTE structure is developed (motion carried 6–0). - Approved personnel hires for the 2026–27 school year: William (Bill) Jones (elementary STEAM teacher), Lane Clevenger (Milan High School social studies), Stacy Day (Milan Middle School teacher consultant), Maddox Avery (middle-school resource-room teacher), Molly Goyens (Milan High School resource room), and Nicole Schooler (Simons elementary resource room). All hires were approved by recorded votes (motions carried, typically 6–0 as recorded). - Voted to enter closed session under Section 8(1)(e) of the Michigan Open Meetings Act to consult with legal counsel on pending litigation and negotiation strategies (motion carried 6–0). The board entered closed session at 7:59 p.m. and returned to open session at 9:31 p.m., then adjourned.
No additional formal resolutions were approved at this meeting. Items scheduled for future action include board approval of the Emergency Operations Plans at the next meeting.
